Well, it's been fun, folks, but I can hear the call I've been dreading for the past 10 days..yep, it's walmart telling me it's time for me to return. Back to annoying Emily (she has no clue), annoying customers (the ones who are only out to pick fights). But, I get to see Marcel, who I haven't seen for two, almost three weeks. I can't wait to ask him how his cruise went! Let's see, I'm working the next eight days straight, but there's really no reason to fuss, because I've been out for 10 days. It's going to be fun. O.O
So what did I do this time around...well, the first night (Thursday) was spent watching movies. Friday I went with Jessica (Mustang girl lol) to Deerbrook. Had fun shopping and catching up on each others lives. I had not seen her since March..it didn't seem like it was that long.
Saturday Amy drove us out to Baybrook. I finally found some Converse shoes! I found them at Journeys. They had my size, and in the right color (purple), so that was my early birthday present. Amy and I looked all over the mall. She got some ideas on what to get me for my birthday. ;)
On Sunday, my parents and I went to Galveston, since we hadn't had a beach day in I don't know how long. The weather was great, although a little windy. The waves weren't all that great, but I did manage to catch a couple on my board. :D There were also a couple of surfers out there, too, much to my excitement. I'd really like to learn how to surf! Down the seawall, towards one of the jettys, there was a whole mess of them. God, I wish I could have just sat out there and watch them. I could watch them for hours...it's so entertaining! It was also the day before the anniversary of Hurricane Ike. Not much has changed. It's pretty much the same.
The next few days were pretty much spent at home, although Wednesday I did some running around. Friends were busy or just being plain weird, so I decided to leave them be. On Thursday, I went to Baytown with my mom. I went to Old Navy, and we both went to Kohl's. The rest of the day was spent packing for the weekend.
Friday I went out to Katy. My sister had to work, so I got dropped off at her office where she works. She had some running around to do, so I went and sat out by the pool (my sister works at an apartment leasing office). It wasn't time for the kids to get out of school yet, so the pool was completely deserted. It was awesome having the pool to myself, but still a little boring. The water was freeeezing. But listening to the water was peaceful and relaxing. :)
Jessica came back and we left not too long after. We ran back to her apartment, and I 'moved in' (haha). She changed clothes, then we went to Katy Mills to look around. Jess wanted something to wear out that night. She finally found a cute top, and we left, thinking we still had plenty of time to get back, eat, take showers and get ready. Her friend texted her, and said they were already at the place we were supposed to meet at. It was only 7:30! We were pissed. So we ditched the eats, and the shower, and literally ran back to her apartment and scrambled to get ready.
We met some of Jess' friends at Baker Street Pub. It was a cool place. I met her friends, Janette, Stacy, and Tammy. I knew Tammy already from Cole's party. We all sat outside and talked and drank, and her friends got to know me a little. After a little while, we all headed for Mo's country bar. The place was a little crowded, but we had fun. We drank and danced and drank some more. I liked Jess' friends. They were all pretty cool. We didn't stay out late. Tammy met my sis and I back at Jess' apartment. We ate pizza and Whataburger to try to sober up. My sister passed out on the stairs after Tammy left. She laughed because she thought that was where she was going to spend the night, and made fun of me, because I wasn't managing them any better. :P Everyone had a good time. :)
Saturday we got up and Jess had to run a couple of errands. After that, we stopped off at Starbucks, then she took me out to the outlet mall, because I'd never been. After getting a little lost trying to find a Walgreen's (don't ask haha), we made it to the mall. I was impressed, because I didn't think they had as many stores as they did. They have everything. We stopped off in Areopostale, and each of us found something. After some walking around, window shopping, and dodging some rain, we grabbed a snack and headed back to Katy. I was a little disappointed we didn't get to see everything, but there will be other times.
We got back to the apartment and watched a little tv, then started getting ready to go out again. We met Jim at Lupe Tortilla (MMMMM yummy), and had dinner. Then we went back to Baker Street. We were meeting different people this time. Elizabeth and her fiancee got there, and we talked and I watched them drink. I wasn't in a drinking mood to be honest. One was enough for me. I was content with watching the Sooners game on tv, and talking and laughing, until my back started hurting. I was hoping Jess would want to go home after leaving the pub, but the three wanted to go to Midnight Rodeo (almost next door to where my sis lives). When Jess and I got in the car, I asked if she wouldn't mind taking me back to her place. She could tell I wasn't feeling up to going to the next place, and I felt bad leaving like that. Jess offered to come back with me, and said she didn't mind, but I told her to not let me ruin her night, to go out and have fun, and not ditch her friends. Jess told me she wouldn't stay at the Rodeo long, that she didn't plan on being there all night.
Jess took me back to her apartment, and said she was sorry I wasn't feeling well. I looked at the pool on the way in, and made a comment about how I wish they'd had a hot tub. That's when she suggested I take a warm bath with epsom salt to help with the pain. I did just that. It felt great. After getting out and dressed, I remembered Jess had started a load of wash before we left. I dried all the clothes, and took the out and folded everything. I figured it was the least I could do. After that, I turned on my laptop, and finally settled down to watch a movie. It was 2am by that point, and I started to wonder. I kept hearing garage doors opening, but no doors opened, and no footsteps. Finally about 2:15, I hear the garage door open, and her car pull in. She said 'mommy I'm home!'. She asked me did the salt help, and I said yes.
Jess had a mission before going to bed. Elizabeth had twisted her ankle before she went out, and after wearing heels and dancing all night, obviously she had made it worse, and she was in a lot of pain. So my sis and I took her the epsom salt. Elizabeth and her fiancee live at the same apartments as Jess, just one building over. We walked over, dodging sprinklers on the way. They weren't home yet. Jess figured they'd stopped to get something to eat. So we walk back. About 10 minutes later, we walked BACK over (no getting wet this time) and went in and Elizabeth came hobbling out of her room, and drunk. We were all laughing at her. She was cracking up trying to tell us how she nearly fell over trying to get inside to the bathroom, and was happy for the epsom salt. Her ankle didn't look swollen, which is a good sign.
Jess and I said our goodbyes and walked back. She went in her room and was surprised to see all the clothes. She asked me did I fold them, and said thank you. I helped her hang up her nicer clothes, then we went to bed. It was about 3 by then.
When I woke up, I couldn't believe it was 12:45! I was a little annoyed my sis didn't wake me up, because she was supposed to work on my hair. Oh, well. Her bed is comfortable, and so soft. Puts mine to shame, but you didn't hear that from me. She drove me home, (after another Starbucks run) and it rained the whole way. Awesome for the grass. We ate pizza and watched the humming bird frenzy outside. She left, and I unpacked, getting ready for work again tomorrow.
Wow, this was really long, but a lot can happen in a couple of days! Well, if you read it the whole way, thanks. :) Back to work tomorrow...here's to a hopefully awesome week. Goodnight!
