Music: Breaking Dawn, pt. 1

What a week it's been so far..from chasing storms, to hospitals, to monster trucks, to fixing this and that, and back to hospitals again, I'm exhausted. I'm not supposed to be exhausted on vacation!
Last week was nice. I spent the first few days milling around and just taking it easy. On Wednesday my family got a call that my uncle had been rushed to the hospital after collapsing at his home. The EMS were able to get there within 5 minutes, but were unable to revive him at first. He went nearly 20 minutes without oxygen. They were able to bring him back, and rushed him to the hospital. They put him in a coma, and cooled his body down in order to let his brain heal. I went up there Thursday night, not worried about my bedtime for the first time in the year that I've been at the warehouse. Not just because of my family member in the hospital, but because I was only going to be working one day. Lack of sleep..no big deal. I'd have the whole weekend to catch back up. After going in and seeing my uncle and talking with our other family members that had made it up there, I got home around 10, and was in bed by 10:15. Zquil did not help me calm down and fall asleep, though. I kept waking up. Friday when I went into work, I spent the whole day worrying about my uncle, but kept focused on making production. I checked in with my mom on every break that I took to get updates. The doctor had started warming him up earlier that morning, and was going to bring him out of the coma. My uncle was responding, and was even breathing over the machine. He still wasn't out of the woods...but it was definitely a good sign. He was still in ICU.
I made it through the rest of the afternoon, thanks to a 5-hour energy. I was dragging by three'o'clock. I made it to 6, and got off on time. My parents had already made their way up to the hospital, but I was dirty from hauling trash cans around, and would not have had time to take a shower, anyway. Not a good idea to go to the hospital, anyway, not like that. I was disappointed, but knew my parents wanted to make the visiting hours before they were over. So I went home, took some allergy medicine, and cooked me some dinner, getting updates from family all the while. It felt weird not having to get up and go to work the next morning.
I'm so used to my schedule now, that being off for two days totally went against my normal schedule. I woke up both Saturday and Sunday morning at 4:50, 5:30 (the time I clock in), and 7:30. My body did not know what to do. 'Why are you sleeping and not at work?' I kept looking at the clock constantly.
I kept my plans for Saturday night and went to Monster Jam. They put on a great show, but idiot me forgot to put my memory card inside my camcorder, so there went my video opp. :( And my internal memory SUCKS, because there IS no internal memory! What a rip off. So I am now in the market for a spare memory card to keep on me at ALL TIMES, no to mention a spare battery. My phone took some decent pics though, and I still had a blast. It was nice to take my mind off things for a minute.
I got home late Saturday, hence why I took Sunday off. I woke up Sunday and spent the day with my mom, who didn't know what to do with me, lol. I forgot how bad tv sucked on weekends, so we watched different shows on our On Demand. It was nice to lay on the couch all day, and laugh at those who had to work. Yes, I know, I'll be paying for that this next weekend.
We went back up to the hospital last night. My uncle was awake, but still had the breathing tube in his throat. He kept looking at me and my dad, and smiling and rolling his head at our jokes. My uncle kept squeezing my hand, so I knew he knew we were there, and was very glad for it. The nurse came in and gave him something to help him sleep, as he'd been uncomfortable all day. If I had a tube down my throat, I would be, too. My aunt and cousin made it to the hospital, we we sat and chatted for a couple hours after my uncle dozed off. I hadn't seen them since my other uncle passed away three years ago. Why is it that when you get older, the only time you see your family is at weddings or funerals?
I spent today getting back into a semi-workout plan. So far, so good..I just hope I get the results I want! Tomorrow I decided to to go the mall and do something for myself, and enjoy the rest of my 'vacation'. I'm going back to see my uncle tomorrow night. They will be taking the tube out, and see if he can swallow, and try to feed him. If all goes well, they will move him out of ICU! I want to thank everyone for their prayers, it's much appreciated. Please continue to pray, as I will.
I will update more when I can, until then, a bunch of vampires are fixing to die, and I'm exhausted. Goodnight.
