What a long week this has been. Of course, I've had five days off, thanks to being sick, and being stuck at the house because of said sickness made those 5 days even longer. I am now officially sick of my bed, my room, and my house altogether. I am feeling better, and my voice is slowly coming back. I'm actually looking forward to going back to work, just for something to do, and for a change of scenery! Ha, I know, I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to going back to work....I'm ready to get back on my machine where I belong (providing no one fucks up my system like they did last weekend...so frustrating!) I now only have two more weekends before making my 6 months, I only hope I'm not going back to work to hear some bad news. This is crunch time! No telling what I'll be walking back into tomorrow, but I'm ready!
March is already shaping up to be an awesome month. There's so much going on, and so much I want to explore, not to mention finally get some things to come together in my personal life (and I'll update as that progresses). Being sick held me back from taking that huge step this week, but next week, I'm coming back with a vengeance. If I make it to the 8th with no problems, I can finally breathe a little easier, for the moment. At the same time I don't want to rush things, I'll just be glad when the time comes.....
So what have I been up to this week? I have spent this week learning to use my other senses, since I couldn't use my voice (yes, I know your voice doesn't count as a sense, just work with me here), meaning, I've used this time to LISTEN. I've talked to friends (online, of course), and just listened to what they had to say, listened to their problems and frustrations, or their funny stories. I've used my 'online' voice to get my own frustrations across, as well as sharing my own stories on how I've used all of this downtime to my advantage. I learned to open my ears and shut my mouth, and it's taught me a lot. I found my old Gameboy and blasted the shit out of Tetris, I was doing really good! I also tried my hand in another project this week. I wouldn't say I failed, per se, as failing actually means crashing and burning, but instead, I decided I had bit off more than I could chew. So I put that one on hold for the moment, until I can ask one of my friends for advice.
I spent my last night off last night toying with my keyboard. Felt good to play again, and I wasn't really going for trying to learn any specific song, etc., I just played because I missed playing. I just need to keep it up.
So now, it's back to work for me. I'm ready to get back and kick some ass (and get my voice back!). It's been a long week, and I'm almost sort of glad it's over.
With that, have a good weekend, everyone...I'll be back soon.
